Local Restaurants & Places to Eat around Lincoln

The Old Bakery Restaurant with Rooms

26/28 Burton Rd, Lincoln LN1 3LB, UK – 01522 576057

It's a small restaurant with a reputation for serving great food and having prices to match. It was our first visit so apart from reading a few reviews and what we'd heard from friends we didn't know what to expect. We were seated in the front space directly opposite the kitchen door which afforded us the chance to hear everything said in the kitchen. The order was taken quickly and our fresh bread supplied. Our food came quickly and was very enjoyable but we just got a sense that we might be fed and gone a bit soon. Our mini taster came on a piece of slate and was fine, even if we didn't know what was in it. Then I caught sight of our server using his unwashed hands to prepare the tasters for other customers and thought I'd seen enough. In summary, delicious fresh food well cooked but the experience was marred by sloppy service and standards. We probably won't return.

Great meal with friends. The staff were wonderful, very helpful. We had the "taster menu", so good. I am gluten free and one of the other diners is dairy free but we were both catered for wonderful and didn't feel we were a nuisance.

Castle view Indian cuisine

11 Union Rd, Lincoln LN1 3BJ, UK – 01522 523040

Very efficient service, beautiful food. Exceptionally friendly owners. Within 15 minutes we had eaten our starter and had our main on the table! Very accommodating staff, every member of staff asked how our food was, had a chat with us and wished us goodnight. Very reasonable prices too.

Had an amazing meal and was very impressed that if something wasn't right we could ask for it to be changed and a fresh dish would be prepared for us. Very tasty authentic cuisine. You definitely need to book as will not be able to just walk in and get a table so please book. You really need to try this if you haven't already, it really is the best Indian I have ever had.

La Bottega Delitalia

9 W Parade, Lincoln LN1 1NL, UK – 01522 537775

I pop in here every so often for a coffee and something to eat the service is always very good it is a relaxing place and the food is excellent

This place could triumph most italian restaruants in a few simple moves. Their food is most authentic and cooked right. Their seating and decor is most thoughtful of italy, their tablecloths are just the same, except for one thing, theyre plastic. With a few changes in that vein and a good italian wine it would triumph the lot.
